The whole universe is governed by certain laws. 26 of them have been discovered till date. Mathematically precise values have been found for these laws. These values are precise and immutable. These values remain same everywhere. These are employed in all the scientific equations and theories to describe and understand the behaviour of the physical world.
Every object in the universe, right from the subatomic particles to the gigantic galaxies, follow these laws with utmost precision, discipline and fidelity. These values are called constants…the physical constants. The values of these constants are so accurate that absolutely accurate predictions of myriad scientific events can be made with near perfection by the whole of scientific community. The constants are so absolute that end result of complex reactions can be known well in advance. Just imagine, the quantum of release of energy by the first nuclear explosion had been calculated even before the design had begun, just at the planning stage of the Manhattan project.
Whether it is interplanetary travels, placing satellites and probes in orbit, studying and forecasting the nature of subatomic particles or the calculations of energy output of nuclear reactors and bombs, or the motion of the planets, star systems and even the whole galaxies, exact calculations can be made. And if the observed values come out different from the calculated ones, something new gets discovered, but the constants are always correct.
The disparity between observed values and the calculated values was the reason which led to the discovery of Dark energy and Dark matter about which for the time being the whole of scientific community is languishing in the dark.
A common person has no idea how important and existential these constants are.
You’d go into a shock to know that even the slightest change in the values of these constants would render the whole universe lifeless. The magnificent sea of heavenly bodies and their perpetual salsa would turn to jelly instantaneously if even one of the constants is tweaked. They are so fine tuned.
Are your able to comprehend the extreme gravity and profundity of these constants? Are you in a frame of mind to appreciate the high intelligence behind the exactness of these laws? Just take a breather and deliberate for a while.
If there had just been one law at play it could have just been a natural process. If there had been two it could have been a sheer coincidence. Had there been three laws on which the universe was operating it would have definitely raised an eyebrow or two.
But…
How would you explain the presence of 26 laws and all numerically precise which the whole creation is obeying diligently? Would you still call it an eerie coincidence, an accident of fate, or does it throw a hint at us of something massively and meticulously planned?
Just imagine the whole universe dancing to the tune of a master keeping all the objects from microscopic to telescopic within the confines of special 26. If this is not evidence of a Higher Intelligence, what else could be?
While these constants might seem of least importance to an ordinary person the impact on our daily lives is profound. From modern communications, development of electronic devices, launching space probes, are all based on these 26 laws. These laws are the bedrock of our understanding of the physical world, from microscopic interior of an atom to the vastness of Cosmos. They are integral for development of scientific theories and engineering technologies that shape our modern world.
Isn’t the universe and all its organized complexities a testament to the existence of higher intelligence? Some sceptics insist on theories based on empirical observations. To them I would say there are aspects of our existence that go beyond the realm of empirical observations. Universe’s beauty, order and incredible comprehensible complexities point to an intelligent design. Isn’t the beauty of creation evidence of a thoughtful design, a purpose beyond what we can ever measure?
Science demands theories supported by verifiable observations. It can elucidate many aspects of our reality, but it grapples with limitations when it comes to understanding the why and sometimes the how too. Even Newton confessed after he had laid down the laws of gravitation in comprehensible form when he had said gravity explains the motion of the planets, but it cannot explain what sets them in motion in such a perfectly calculated way. I think that is why Einstein had accepted, which I repeat, “the more I study science the more I believe in higher intelligence”.
The intricate balance and fine tuning of laws of nature allow for the emergence of life suggest a purposeful design, a design that undoubtedly points to a higher intelligence.
After going over this article and reading about the mind-boggling fact on how the whole universe is being controlled must be filling you with a sense of awe and astonishment. It wouldn’t be at all inappropriate if some of you think it can’t just be a higher intelligence in operation, that has to be a product of a Divine intelligence.

Absolutely!
There has to be a Divine intelligence at work otherwise how what all is out there could be possible. When we put a few tons of a space station in orbit or a heavy telescope, the achievements are hailed as a result of extraordinary technology belonging to the realm of high intellectuals. These manmade objects may last for a few decades at most. How would you extol the intelligence which has placed the mind-numbing enormous universe out there which already has lasted billions of years. Nothing less than Divine could justify don’t you agree?
But isn’t performance of miracles an inherent attribute of the Divine. Where are the miracles then?
Yes, that’s absolutely true, without the exhibit which I would name miracles, the presence of the Divine can’t be justified completely.
You want to witness miracles? Want to see them face to face?
O K, I will take you there where not just one or two miracles are taking place but where I’m taking you next, there will be miracles galore. And, I assure you, each of those miracles will keep you dumbstruck, tongue tied and wonderstruck.
